There I was, just minding my own buisness in the ~~Trible~~ Tribal level, making babies and equipting adults with musical insturments, and the computer just shuts down on me!

This is the second time this has happened in this exact spot. Good thing i'd saved 1 min before, but still! Loading three times from the same save point is getting a bit tedious.

2. Intel has bad graphics cards.
At least spore doesn't die ever five minuets anymore. THAT was annoying. I think my graphics card must have gotten tired of dying all the time, so now it's just chugging along under the all the strain. It got me into the habit of saving alot, though, which is good for me now.

Things I have learned from trying to get on livejournal: Vista does not even like it's own Internet Explorer. "This Program has stopped working" blah blah... Just from clicking on "post to your livejournal" in the main screen drop down! Sad...

Author's Notes: Hopefully this hasn't been written yet. I haven't been able to keep up with my f-list all that well lately. Here's me, adding to the flood of Post-JE fics.

With the last echoes of the TARDIS fading, to Rose, it seemed as if all sound had left with it. The roaring of the waves, the whistling of the wind, the sound of her mother on her cell phone: none of it touched her. He was gone. Rose turned to look at the man standing beside her. He too was silent, staring at her with that calm, sad face. She had to do something to stop all this stifling silence.

"Well," she said in a falsely happy voice. The falseness was something that she knew he would be able to hear- No, she wasn't going to think about that. "What does- Doctor? Are you alright?"

His hand has slowly fell from her loose grip as he stared blankly ahead. All the light had gone out of his eyes. He was slowly hunching forward, bringing his arms up to his head as if to cradle it. His mouth opened in a silent yell, but no sound emerged.

"Doctor?! What is it? What's wrong? What's happening?" The wind picked up even more, drowning out her words as she yelled at the Doctor.

Rose didn't bother remembering that this wasn't her Doctor. It was still the Doctor, and he was in pain. She brought her arms around him to steady him as he swayed in the strong wind. Whipping hair obscuring her vision, she looked around for someone to help. Her mother had already managed to put a good distance between them, probably to give them some time alone. Jackie was talking on her cell, her back to them, and even if Rose screamed her loudest scream, Jackie still would not be able to hear her.

Suddenly, the wind stopped. Another silence enveloped the two, only this time it had a very malevolent feel.

"Doctor?"

The Doctor slowly straightened from her grasp, and she stepped away slightly. He still wasn't looking at her; he was looking down now. She couldn't even see his eyes.

"Doctor?" She tried again.

The man in front of her snapped around to stare directly into her eyes. His eyes... she could only describe them as inhuman. There was something wrong with them. They didn't look right physically, and also in the sense of who he was underneath them.

"Who are you?" For the third time she spoke. Rose was far calmer than she thought she would be. She had never imagined any of this happening. To much had happened in too short of a time.

"I?" The man inside the, no, a human body of the Doctor grinned slowly, as if testing it out. "I am the Master, and you will obey me."

The End. *cackles*

Spoilers. And doesn't that remind you of River Song. Ugh.

I actually thought Donna was the TARDIS for a whole 30 seconds. Then, at the climactic scene with Davros about to destroy the whole world... I completely forgot about Donna and Doctor #2. It was so shocking to see them pop up!

At some points, I really hate Rose Tyler. This is balanced by the points at which I really love her, but BadWolfBay2 was not her most shining moment. What kind of BS ultimatum was that!? The Doctor never could have said "I love you" even if he wanted to. He was trying to push her toward his other self and she just let him. She should have at least said goodbye (with a nice snog) to the Doctor(1), even if Rose and Doc2 had to stay. Alas. Give him some sort of happy memories, please!

Isn't it funny how everyone else seems to have the ability to see into the future except the TIME LORD? [Even the Ood-!!]

After everything, the Doctor is still alone. Everyone else has someone, but not him. =(
DARN YOU RTD, even happy endings have to by angsty to the Doctor, don't they?! Eventually, he's gonna just snap, and then they'll have to bring Rose back or invent a new 'love' character to put the pieces back together.

*Glares at Doctor1* He should have just kept Doc2 and Rose WITH him! OT3!

I'm sad to see RTD leave((and Phil Collinson(sp?))), but at least Moffet doesn't kill quite so many people in his episodes ((or, he doesn't kill anyone in his episodes...)) so that'll make the Doctor more happy. Hopefully. He needs SOME sort of happiness. =(

Also, I don't like Moffet. He gave us both the most and least shippy parts of the new season, pre-season4. I'll never forgive him for Lady in the Fireplace.

I also loved the ending. It was heartrending and lonely. If only that trailer wasn't there to ruin the moment!

An essay I wrote for one of the Merchant Guild events awhile ago. 10 min. time limit.

NuxusTK is an MMORPG. Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game. Massively is a bit of an exaggeration, though. I'm not playing it at this time, but my characters are not deleted.

Edited for the horrible spelling mistakes, and added a couple sentences onto the ending, so that it wouldn't end so very badly.

It was the dead of night.

All around Kugnae, there was darkness and silence.

...Except in the Marketplace.

"Steelthorns! Get your Steelthorns! Low-low price of only 35k!"

"Cheogans, Pirate clothes, Ilbon outfits, wedding dresses, all here and all for sale!"

"30k!"
"No, 50k!"
"50k for that piece of Slag?! Look at that rust, that scratch, those marks! I'll buy for no less than 35!"

It was pandemonium.

The young the old, the rich and the poor gather in the market place while all sane people are asleep. Looking for good deals, trying to gather those last few necessary items, or just trying to make what little money they can, Kugnae Marketplace makes or brakes people.

This is the story of someone who made it.

"Ah, sis!" A young man wined. I don't want to be out here now, I've got to train at the Rogue academy tomorrow! I'll never be a Baekho if I don't put in the effort!"

"Power does not always make you stong, Jack. You must have guile and wisdom also." His older sister admonished.

"Guile and wisdom can't prevent me from slitting people's throats if I wanted to, sis."

"But they can get you thrown in jail, if you don't use some of those smarts and kill unnoticed. Look, there's a new Merchant event sign up. It looks like it's a Treasure Hunt. If you can complete that, I wont bother you about you being such a dolt-head" Sis pointed out the sign, posted predominately in the middle of K.Marketplace.

Jack sighed. He was horrible at remembering the current prices. He looked around in despair, watching the trading and bartering taking place around him. 'I must do this' He thought. 'It'll get sis off my back, AND I can get a free prize!'

As he watched people buying and selling, he noticed that while 3 ST had been sold since he had arrived (he loved ST's, wanted one for his Exist-day.) One of them, placed at a predominate place in the stall's display case, was not selling.

"How much for that ST," he asked.

"Ah, this? This is a marvelous piece of it's kind-"

"Screw that, the price, man!"

The merchant glared. "70k."

"No way, ST's are worth 40k, tops!" Jack glared back.

"This one was made at the supreme-"

"Blah blah. It's just like all the others. This is the bad priced item at for the Quest!"

The merchant still glared, but his eyes flickered to a small note posted on the stalls side.

It was all a scam to get people to join. There was no free item. Jack sighed and went back to his sister, and then went home. He completely missed the small glint of light from under the rock. A Steelthorn poked out from under the dirt, shining in the diffuse lamp light. Jack should have remembered one of the greatest tenants of the Merchant Code: Look underneath the underneath.

Remember, I didn't have much time for this, so it's going to be bad!

When they showed that scene with the entire team together at the diner, that's the point when I knew he would die. First I thought he'd be shot in the alleyway, then I though, no, a Car Bomb! Then I thought, that guy at the window! RUN! Then, I knew he'd shoot him, he was just trying to ask for a reason not to. Then, he SHOT WARRIK IN THE NECK. Then, he shot him AGAIN! FUCK! Go Nick, go rescue him, please!!!!! There's all those cops in that diner, please let one of them have heard a shot! I've always hated that under-sheriff ass-kisser. Bastard. I NEEED TO KNOW WHAT THE NEXT EPISODE WILL BE! It is vitally necessary information!

Apologies for the cursing. It was necessary to completely voice my EXTREME displeasure.

Sorry, no actual text. It turns into a useless glob. Until someone figures out what font ASCII uses, we can't post the things on LJ. They'd be pretty small, anyway, to fit on the page without wordwrapping.

Oddly, the text looks fine on the HTML editing area of LJ posting. I want to know what font that uses. =(

The Doctor's Daughter.

My first impression: I hate this.

The start sucked. Plot holes galore. Why exactly does only the Doctor get stuck into the clone maker? Why don't Donna and Martha deserve clones? Other things like abandoning/destroying a tunnel just because the Hath(?) come to fight even though the map showed an extreme lack of tunnels, the short short short lives of clones (and the "old" general), the extra guns being readily available, the fact that there were only 3 people guarding a tunnel and setting up explosives on it even though it had a valuable (and USABLE, why weren't THEY using it?!) cloning machine within attacking distance of the Hath, exactly why "clean hands" were noticed instead of 'weird clothes', why 'clean hands' were important (they may have just not picked up any dirt yet, just been cloned recently!) all made me hate the beginning of the episode(and the rest, really).

The entire premise of the episode is absolute rubbish, only based around "The Doctor has a Daughter for one episode! Go, make it so!". I've seen better plots on 100 word drabbles.

Then, ignoring all that, I started to find that I actually... liked it! I must qualify this.

I am a product of my generation. I like big booms and pretty graphics. A good spray of blood can completely turn around my review of a movie or show. Kill Bill is an example of this. ((I hate it for many reasons, but the way it was shot/ the wonderful imagery would make me watch it again, anyway. Muted.)) And I have to admit, the episode looked wonderful. No wobbly sets here! It was beautiful, looking well used and fought in (against the plot, which says that they fought for all of 7 days >.<) The action pushed me away from my pessimistic reviewer mentality and drew me into the episode itself. Until the end came up and I hated it all over again, the clichéd P.O.S. Only 7 days?! Maybe someone should have told the set designers that.

I did, however, love the characterizations of the main character, (ignoring plot details). The actors out did themselves this time. The Doctor ignoring his own daughter was so in character, along with using the mouse in his pocket to distract the guard. *grins*

The wound on the back of the hand looking exactly like the scar(s) in The Empty Child stuck me as stupid and useless.

The 7 days of fighting, and loosing generations within that time, yet having an "old" man there as stay-at-base general... Why didn't the FIRST generation do that?!

The aliens sucked. They were as shallow a character(s) as Capt. Jack still is. Maybe they were pacifistic against non-aggressors, but the way they treated Martha was... very naive and un-strategic. How the heck did they talk, anyway? Martha seemed to understand them at the end, but not at the beginning? She sure did grow fond of that one Hath pretty fast if she was joking, not understanding him at all but still responding to whatever she thought he was saying.
Maybe the Hath still had some 1st generation people, so they were quick to trust and stop fighting, but it still seemed unrealistic.

The Doctor ignoring Donna about the numbers was a bit OOC. Then again, he had a lot on his mind.

There's no way Donna memorized the Dewey Decimal System in 2 days. I worked in a library for years, focusing on memorizing the Dewey Decimal System and still had to look up what certain decimal points were for. Donna would have had to sit down with the big giant set of books devoted to the system, up to 5 decimal places(?), and read it from sun up to sun down. Even if she only stuck with 2 decimal places, like I did. ((On an off topic note, did you know that the Dewey Decimal system in my library had seahorses with all the amphibians, instead of with the fish in the previous number? I even looked it up in the big book of D. decimals(I thought they made a mistake on the labels. It happens). They're under the number for amphibians, not fish. Weird, no?))

Zomg! Random Martyrism/Angst scene with the Hath and Martha! Bleh. Oh well, he's a fish. Maybe he lives.

Whatever happened to that Time Lord mental link thing? He shouldn't need to hear her hearts(2? Don't they have only 1 on the first life?), he should be able to feel her in his mind! Then again, maybe it's a only Time Lord thing (rassilon's imprintur?(sp?)), and she was only a Galifreyan (perhaps a half-Galifreyan) but then why did she do a mini-regeneration?

The regeneration sucked, too. She shouldn't even have any artron in her system! (if regenerations use that.)

Oh, and how did she learn to fly a shuttle? How did they know what a shuttle WAS!? The general guy said that they had all forgotten how to READ! *glares at writer*

On a geeky note, when the Doctor said something about Jenny being too much like him and that's why she didn't regenerate, was he talking about his predilection for bad regenerations, or the fact that he's (possibly) half human? It's the first hint of him being half human in the T.V. series, I believe. Not that I'd call this cannon. *glares at the writer some more*

I'll update after I watch it again, this time with the commentary.

Doctor Who, Season Four. By Episode 5, we have had:

End of the World/Days I haven't even heard anyone talking about THIS one! I would've missed it if I hadn't watched The Poison Sky and The Planet of the Ood back to back! "End of the World shift" says the PR woman in PotO.((WTF? What kind of thing to say to avoid worry is that!?)) "People are liking it to the End of Days" says the anchorwoman for the fake!news in The Poison Sky. This probably ties in to the 'Missing/Lost Planets' End of the World seems to be a popular theme in Doctor Who. It even has an episode named as such. ((and wasn't End of Days a Torchwood Episode?)) 'End of the World' is also said by the Master, if I remember correctly.

The Medusa Cascade! First mentioned by the Master as an accomplishment of the Doctor during the Time War, it has since been repeated in: The Fires of Pompeii and The Poison Sky. The Doctor's name is said to be hidden in the Medusa Cascade by the prophetess and it apparently has a very pretty moon or two according to the Doctor. Probably the main Arc word.

Atmos False Arc Word. Found out to be the joint idea of a boy genius and the Sontarans(?), this machine takes out all the carbon dioxide in the fuel exhaust and secretly converts it into 'Clone feed'. It also incorporates a Navigation system and is wired through-out the car itself, controlling steering, locks, and the engine. It had been attached to half the cars in the world when finally activated. Seen in the window of the Taxi in Partners in Crime, and, of course, in the double episode TSS/TPS.

Lost Planets Both the Pyroviles in Fires of Pompeii and the Adipose of Partners in Crime have had their planets... lost. How is unknown. At least one planet (likely all, if they had more than one) is lost for the Piroviles, and more than one 'Breeding planet' for the Adipose. The Sontaran war against the Rutans is also going badly; perhaps they lost a couple planets too. The Sontarans wanted to also turn Earth into a breeding planet. The chances are good that they lost a 'breeding planet' or two, also.

Red Fox/Wolf(?) (picture) Seen next to the TARDIS, on a barrel and on the wall, in episode 1 and 4 respectively ((PiC and The Sontaran Stratagem)). A Bad Wolf reference, perhaps? A message about Rose, maybe? Only Time will tell.

Rose (picture/person/mention/reference) Rose herself has been popping up a lot lately! In PiC, she appeared! As in ACTUALLY THERE! Mysteriously dissappearing she has since popped up on the Tardis Console Screen for a second, yelling "Doctor!" silently in TPS. She has also been mentioned by name in PiC, (Thought to) been referenced to by a prophet in FoP as "She is coming", and (possibly?) been referenced to at the end of TPotO in relation to a song.((Personal Note: That song at the end of TPotO was definitely the DOCTOR's SONG! It's a Chancellor Flavia singing across the universe sort of song, not Rose or Bad Wolf Bay sort of song. No real Rose reference. ))

Other: This season has a real big cloning thing, doesn't it? The Sontarans, Martha, the "Doctor's Daughter" ((I heard)). They never say how the Ood reproduce, and the Adipose babies and the Pyrovilians (the ones growing in peoples bodies) are pretty much clones too; It can be argued either way.
Very suspicious! They must be running out of ideas! =D Or money, wanting to make everything look similar.

Doctor Who: Sontaran Stratagem

I posted a theory about the new Who episode: The Sontaran Stratagem about the big bad Sontarans apparently holding purple paintbrushes. =)

Basically, it's just asking what they're DOING with paint brushes, not actual theories on what they're using them for. Seeing as how TSS has come out, but I have yet to see it, I'll say that they're... Using them to mark/ apply brands to people? It's Evil brain turning paint? They're making some nice signs and logo's for taking over Earth? They're hiding as an ad agency/ logo artists/ artists while they secretly TAKE OVER THE WORLD! Cuz you know artists are Weird. They can wear big fat helmets if they want to! They're liberal! ((not a real opinion. =) ))

Doctor Who Season 4 Episode 2 Review. "The Fires of Pompeii"

First impressions after the episode:

I Love Donna, but I can't help but feel there will be consequences for saving that family. It's a slippery slope:

"It's just one family, It'll be alright, I'll do it for Donna. 20 thousand other people are dying."

"It's just one city, others are being destroyed. History wont miss it all that much"

"It's just one planet. Tons of planets have died. It's not like it's all that important in the universe, out on the edge and all..."

"I'm going to go back and save Gallifrey! It's my right as a Time Lord!"

I really really really loved this episode. It's not just because there were Rose references. It's not just because there were things about Gallifrey and Time Lords; It's the entire episode. I can find faults with the timing and continuity and such with episode 1, but this? This is grand!

Lets see. The family interaction was spectacular. Direct references to modern day life included.

The geek in me loves Donna for questioning the Doctor about the translation, especially about speaking Latin while speaking Latin. Good god, I really love that.

Why is it that I love the Doctor bribing that kid so much? Because it's just the slightest bit wrong. It's like the Doctor saying 'hell' when he and Donna had that mime conversation. ^.^

In Conclusion...

I love Donna. She old enough and strong willed enough that she isn't influenced by the Doctor like the others were. She makes him see things her way. The human way. The humane way.

She presses down the lever with him. She accepts responsibility, and tells him he's not alone, not all at fault at the same time. It's not just him making the big decisions anymore. It's what I loved about Rose, only in a more mature package!

I knew Donna was right for the Doctor since Runaway Bride((when she slaps him. Again. Donna: "Are you enjoying this!?")), but this Donna is exactly what he needs. ((I hate myself for saying/thinking this, but)) He doesn't need Rose or Martha or Jack. He doesn't need someone to goad him on, to follow along or to help him; and he definitely doesn't need someone to (hero) worship him. He needs someone to stop him, to show him where he's wrong, to point out his mistakes. He needs to shown that he is a man, because he is a man, and HE IS NOT a God.

And that is why I hated Rose in Season 2. It wasn't just her leaving that makes him this way in Season 2 and 3, it was her being there and not stopping him. Goading him on. =(

Doctor Who: the impossible planet

Scootie floats away into the black hole when being sucked out to the planet's surface, right?

So, Why does she float?

They show scenes of people standing on the surface, working, and Evil!Danny standing without a suit, so why would there be enough gravity to withstand the... wind(?) and other things since apparently their gravity isn't artificial ((though Doctor who has always been really bad about small things like gravity)) despite being a tiny planet with a hollow core.

So being sucked out with the oxygen and air apparently get her high up enough that the much much stronger gravity of the black hole took over, beyond the protection of the impossible planet.

Why hasn't this ever happened before to people going out on EVA's?

Doctor who character rant

You need the experience of thousands of encounters with thousands of races to have a general idea of what can and can't be done and how. Thats why no matter how good the Doctor's companions are, they always tend to play second fiddle to him. If they had a couple years of experience, then they might start to see problems and solutions the same way the Doctor does.

An example of this is Rose. At the end of the second season, she got very good at problem finding and solving. So good in fact, that during 'The Idiots Lantern'(1950's Facy-sucking TV ep.) she actually found the solution before they even noticed what was wrong. Again, later in the episode, she tracked down the store owner that was selling the evil TV's that sucked peoples faces out before the Doctor even knew what was face-sucking people in the first place.

All of this detective work was simple QED. She is a resourceful, intelligent young lady with experience in weird things. She was not put off by the fact that people has their faces sucked off. She noticed the fact that there were an awful lot of TV antennas for the time. She also noticed the cause of this was someone selling them cheap. She observed the odd, possibly alien lightning that had o reason to be crawling over the TV. A tv in the house the mysterious face sucking occurred. A TV sold by a person who was practically giving them away to people. In these circumstances, the only previous knowledge needed was faceless people are not normal, pink lightning has no reason to be on or around a TV, and TV's were rare at the time of the Queens Coronation. Even with no time traveling experience, a person could follow these clues and arrive at the conclusion that the TV seller was irresponsible. It was simply easier for her because she DID have experience in timetraveling and weird things.

Rose is good at it. It's been proven. What she wasn't good at is making people stop doing them. This is also proven; I.E. the Sycorax ship speech. She just doesn't have the experience necessary to know what to do or how to do it. Which is why she was promptly face-sucked when she confronted the TV guy. The doctor almost always does that part, and if he doesn't, it's just a matter of brute force. She really doesn't have that brute force, at least not without a chain to swing on or a gun to shoot, and it wouldn't have mattered anyway because the enemy used power and technology outside of her knowledge or understanding (also known as experience). She failed miserably.
